HTS John Vorster Rugby

HTS John Vorster put together a formidable campaign in the 2026 local Pretoria league. Navigating a tough schedule, the 1st Team finished a very respectable 2nd overall on the Blou Bulle Afdeling 2 final league log, securing a strong form card of WLWWL. They proved to be a dominant force in the region, continuing their proud rugby heritage. On 1 August, they faced Hans Strijdom in the cross-provincial SDC Noordvaal Cup Division II playoffs, battling hard in a 46-point thriller.

While the seniors held the line, the junior ranks delivered some of the most impressive statistics of the season.

The Undefeated u/14B Side. The standout squad of the year was the u/14B team. They steamrolled their competition, stringing together a flawless WWWWW record to finish undefeated and claim the #1 spot on the league log.

The u/14A Playoff Run. The u/14A side followed closely behind, securing 2nd on the league log. Their season was highlighted by massive victories, including a 31–14 win over Tuine, a 26–10 win against Die Wilgers, and a 36–0 shutout against Overkruin. They advanced to the cross-provincial SDC Noordvaal Cup Playoffs on 1 August, where they ultimately bowed out in a tough 14–27 battle against Rob Ferreira.

Middle-Tier Grit. The u/15A team secured a solid 3rd place on the log, banking a clinical 17–3 victory over Tuine and narrowly losing a 27–28 heartbreaker to Die Wilgers. Meanwhile, the u/16A side showed massive BMT (Big Match Temperament) in tight games, edging out Tuine 35–34 and Die Wilgers 20–17.
